Environmental responsibility 19
Saves resources
Easily recycle materials, save paper, and use fewer resources across the entire lifecycle of the printer.
• As shown at right, HP Smart Web Printing improves printing from Web
pages. Eliminate extra pages and right-edge clipping and enjoy the ability
to combine content and print exactly what you want, without wasting
resources.
• HP’s new low-melt toner formulation provides the following environmental
benefits:
• Requires 15 percent less energy than conventional toners to reach its
melting point.
• Enables a cartridge design that uses 5 percent less plastic than the
prior generation, yet prints the same number of pages.
• Consumes 10 to 15 percent less energy per page than the prior
generation.
• The printer’s paper trays feature automatic media size detection for
accurate printing, saving time and eliminating paper and toner waste.
Evaluating environmental responsibility
When evaluating environmental responsibility, consider the following:
• Does the printer reduce power when not in use? Are there tools available to schedule automatic printer
shut-downs?
• How much power does the printer use?
• Can you print on recycled media?
• Is there a recycling program in place for toner cartridges?
• Is there a product take-back program available for hardware?
