Document feeder floating hinges
NOTE: If you will be removing any scanner sub-assembly components in a clean-room
environment, it is easier to remove the floating hinges after removing the scanner bezel. See the
service manual addendum for the procedure.
Before proceeding, remove the following components:

Document feeder tray. See

Document feeder cover. See

● Document feeder core assembly. See

●
Document feeder base assembly. See
Document feeder base assembly on page 85.
Remove the document feeder floating hinges

Insert a small flat-blade screwdriver along one side of the floating hinge. Rotate the screwdriver
down to release the hook at the bottom of the floating hinge (callout 1), and then remove the
hinge. Repeat the procedure for each hinge (callout 2).
