2. Pull forward on the center tab on one of the solar locks to release the lock (callout 1), and then
pull the solar lock straight down to remove it (callout 2). Repeat the procedure for the other solar
lock.
TIP: The solar locks can be difficult to remove. You might need to use a small flat-blade
screwdriver to gently pry the two side tabs in order to release the solar lock from the groove in
the document feeder hinge.

3. Open the document feeder base, and then carefully remove it from the scanner assembly.
CAUTION: Do not damage the FFC (callout 1) that runs through the document feeder base.
Carefully feed the FFC through the slot during removal and during replacement.
