Purpose: The document is intended for use by end-of-life recyclers or treatment facilities. It provides the basic instructions
for the disassembly of HP products to remove components and materials requiring selective treatment, as defined by EU
directive 2002/96/EC, Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE).

Product Disassembly Process

Remove Access Panel

Release the screw and slide access panel and remove it.

Remove Front Bezel

Release 3 bezel latches from chassis by pulling outwards the bezel latches.

Remove ODD

Remove the Optical Disk Drive (ODD) from the unit.

Remove HDD

Use screwdriver to loosen screws and then take the HDD off the unit.

Disconnect Cables from PCA

Remove all cables connected to the Printed Circuit Assembly (PCA).

Remove Memory and Graphics Card

Release memory socket levers and graphic card from the slot.

Remove FIO Unit

Use screwdriver to loosen screws and then take the FIO off the unit.

Remove CPU Cooler

Remove the CPU cooler assembly.

Remove CMOS Battery

Pull the battery holder as shown to remove the CMOS battery from the PCA.

Remove System Fan

Rotate screwdriver to loosen screws and then take off the system fan.

Remove PCA

Use screwdriver to loosen screws and then take the PCA off the unit.

Remove PSU

Use screwdriver to loosen screws and then take the PSU off the unit.

Open PSU

Remove the power supply (PSU) cover.

Remove PSU Capacitors

Remove electrolytic capacitors from the PSU by cutting them off at the solder/pin connection point.
