Display assembly
Before disassembling the display assembly, follow these steps:
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (Preparation for disassembly on page 33).
2. Place the computer in Battery Safe mode (Battery Safe mode on page 33).
3. Remove the bottom cover (Bottom cover on page 34).
4. Remove the battery (Battery on page 36).
Disassemble the display assembly:
1. Remove the display assembly from the computer:
a. Disconnect the antennas from the WWAN module (1) and the WLAN module (2) (select models
only) .
b. Remove the antenna cables from the routing channel in the speaker (3).
c. Disconnect the display cable from the system board ZIF connector (4), and then remove the cable
from the routing channel in the chassis (5).
d. Remove the four Torx T8 2.5 × 4.0 screws (6) that secure the display assembly to the computer.
e. Rotate the display to open the hinges (7), and then separate the display from the computer.
2. Flex the top (1) of the bezel, the inside edges of the left and right sides (2), and the bottom (3) of the
bezel until it disengages from the display enclosure.
