NOTE: The service cover is included in the Plastics Kit, spare part numbers 641190-001 (for use only
on HP EliteBook 8570p Notebook PC computer models) and 646971-001 (for use only on HP
EliteBook 6570B Notebook PC computer models). The service cover included in the Plastics Kits
includes a “made in China” label.
The service cover is also available using the following spare part numbers for regional configure to
order (RCTO) circumstances:

670434-001—regional configure to order (RCTO) with “made in America” or “made in Mexico”
label
●
671461-001—RCTO with “made in Japan” label
Before removing the service cover, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4. Remove the battery (see
Battery on page 81).
Remove the service cover:
1.
Slide the release latch (1) and remove the locking screw (if installed) (2).
2.
Slide the release latch (3) to disengage the door from the computer.
3.
Slide the door toward the front of the computer (4), and then lift the door off the computer (5).
