Ensure you are using the correct side of the poster for Windows setup instructions.
Follow steps sequentially and connect the USB cable only when instructed.
Consult your product box for exact contents and system requirements.
Turn on your PC and wait for the Windows desktop to appear.
Close all running applications, including antivirus software.
Insert the HP PSC software CD into the computer's drive.
Follow the software installation prompts displayed on the screen.
Do not connect the USB cable until the software prompts you.
If CD auto-play fails, manually run setup.exe from the CD.
Lower input tray and cartridge access door, remove packaging, then close access door.
Peel the front panel overlay from its backing material.
Align the overlay with the recessed area and press firmly into place.
Load a sheet of plain white paper into the printer's input tray.
Connect the USB cable and power cord as instructed by the software.
Connect USB only when prompted and avoid hubs or keyboards.
Turn on the HP PSC; the power light will turn green.
Open the print cartridge access door and wait for the carriage to center.
Remove tape using the pull-tab, do not touch contacts or re-tape.
Slide the black cartridge into the right slot of the carriage until it snaps.
Repeat insertion process for the color cartridge, ensuring both are secure.
Close the door; an alignment page will print for the next step.
Place the alignment page face down in the scanner bed's front left corner.
Close the lid and press the Scan button to start alignment.
Alignment is complete when the ON light stops blinking; discard the page.
Confirm success via the green checkmark screen or consult Readme for errors.
