Overview

This document describes a CPE (Customer Premises Equipment) device, designed to provide a high-speed wireless network connection. The CPE acts as a central hub for internet access, allowing users to connect various devices to the network.

Function Description

The CPE's primary function is to establish and manage a wireless network connection. It supports LTE connectivity, enabling high-speed data transmission. The device includes several indicators and ports to facilitate its operation and connectivity.

  • Power Indicator: This indicator shows the device's power status. A steady blue light indicates the device is powered on and either the power adapter is working correctly, or the battery level is high. An alternating blue and pink light signifies that the device is powered on, but the power adapter is not in use or not working properly, and the battery level is low. A steady pink light indicates a malfunction.
  • WLAN Indicator: This light shows the status of the Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) function. It can be on (WLAN function enabled), blinking (transmitting data through WLAN), or off (WLAN function disabled).
  • WPS Indicator: This indicator relates to the Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) function. It can be on (WPS function enabled), blinking (WPS interconnection verification in progress), or off (WPS function disabled).
  • LAN Indicator: This indicator shows the status of the Local Area Network (LAN) connection. It can be on (port connected to a device), blinking (data being transmitted through the port), or off (no device connected to the port).
  • Voice Indicator: This indicator shows the status of voice calls. It can be on (off-hook condition), blinking (incoming call), or off (on-hook condition).
  • Signal Indicator: This indicator displays the strength of the network signal. A full light indicates a strong signal, while no light indicates no network signal.
  • WLAN Button: This button allows users to enable or disable the WLAN function by pressing and holding it for more than 2 seconds.
  • Reset Button: This button is used to restore the device to its factory settings. Pressing and holding it for more than 2 seconds will initiate the reset process, which will overwrite all previous settings.
  • WPS Button: After the WPS function is enabled, pressing and holding this button for more than 2 seconds initiates WPS interconnection, simplifying the process of connecting new devices to the wireless network.
  • External Antenna Port: This port allows for the connection of an external antenna, which can be used to improve signal reception, particularly in areas with weak signals.
  • Power Button: This button is used to power the device on or off.
  • Power Port: This port is where the device's power adapter is connected to supply power.
  • LAN Port: This port connects to computers, switches, or other network devices, enabling wired network connections.
  • TEL Port: This port connects to a phone, suggesting the device may support voice over IP (VoIP) or similar telephony features.
  • USIM Card Slot: This slot accommodates a USIM (Universal Subscriber Identity Module) card, which is essential for connecting to the LTE network.
  • Battery Compartment: This compartment is where the battery is installed, providing portable power for the device.
  • Battery Port: This port is where the battery connection cable is inserted, connecting the battery to the device's power system.
  • Back Cover: This cover protects the internal components, including the battery and USIM card slot.

Usage Features

The CPE is designed for ease of use and flexible deployment.

  • Quick Setup: The device comes with a Quick Start Guide and Safety Information to help users set it up quickly and safely.
  • Web Management Interface: The CPE features a web-based configuration utility accessible through a browser. This interface allows for initial device installation, parameter configuration, and function management. Users can log in using a default username and password (admin/admin) and configure network settings, security protocols, and other advanced features.
  • Automatic Charging: When connected to a power source, the CPE automatically charges its battery, ensuring it's ready for portable use.
  • Optional Battery: The device supports an optional battery, providing mobility and backup power in case of power outages.
  • External Antenna Support: The option to connect an external antenna allows users to optimize signal reception, which is particularly useful in locations with challenging network coverage.
  • Flexible Placement: The device's position or orientation can be altered to improve signal reception, with the signal strength light providing visual feedback on reception quality.
  • Multiple Connectivity Options: With LAN ports, WLAN capabilities, and a TEL port, the CPE offers diverse connectivity options for various devices, including computers, phones, and other network equipment.
  • WPS Functionality: The WPS button simplifies the process of connecting new Wi-Fi devices to the network, eliminating the need to manually enter complex passwords.

Maintenance Features

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of the CPE.

  • Online Help: Detailed information about the CPE's functions and configurations is available through the online help on the web management page, which requires Adobe Reader 6.0 or higher to view.
  • Factory Reset: The reset button allows users to restore the device to its factory settings, which can be useful for troubleshooting or reconfiguring the device from scratch.
  • Power Adapter Compatibility: It is crucial to use only power adapters compatible with the CPE and provided by a designated manufacturer. Using incompatible adapters can lead to malfunctions, failure, or even fire, and voids all warranties.
  • Environmental Considerations:
    • Obstruction Avoidance: For optimal signal transmission, it is recommended to install the device in an open space, free from obstructions like concrete and wooden walls, which can affect network signals.
    • Electromagnetic Interference: The device should be kept away from equipment that generates strong magnetic and electric fields, such as microwaves, refrigerators, and satellite receivers, to prevent interference.
    • Weather Precautions: During thunderstorms and rainy weather, it is advised to turn off and disconnect the device to prevent damage.
  • USIM Card Handling: Users should avoid removing the USIM card while it is in use, as this can affect the CPE's performance and potentially lead to data loss.
  • Firmware Upgrades: During device upgrades or restarts, all indicators except the power indicator may blink. It is important not to power off the device during this process to avoid damage.
  • Authorized Dealer Support: In case of missing or damaged items in the package, or if optional accessories are needed, users should contact their local or authorized dealer for assistance or to purchase compatible parts.
