Connect disk enclosures according to the following rules:
SAS expansion cables must be naturally bent, and a minimum of 97 mm (3.82 inches) clearance must be
reserved in front of each enclosure for winding cables.
All the EXP ports on the storage system can connect only to the PRI ports. An incorrect connection will cause a
service interruption.
The number of disk enclosures connected to the expansion ports on the controller enclosure cannot exceed the
upper limit.
Expansion interface modules must be installed in slots A0 and B0 of the controller enclosure.
The first disk enclosure that is connected to port P0 of slots A0 and B0 on the controller enclosure must be a
configuration disk enclosure.
Connect the expansion interface module of controller A to expansion module A of a disk enclosure, and connect
the expansion interface module of controller B to expansion module B of a disk enclosure.
For a storage system with two or more disk enclosures, set up multiple loops and evenly allocate those disk
enclosures to the loops.
Connect disk enclosures except the configuration disk enclosure in one loop over two separate links for optimal
network reliability.
