Before using the battery charger, read and understand all
instructions in this manual and on the battery charger instruction
sheet. Read and understand all decals on the mower, on the
battery charger and on the batteries.
WARNING: Indoor use only with proper ventilation.
WARNING: Charge only 48 V maximum 135 Ah
Lead-acid type rechargeable batteries. Other types of
batteries may burst causing serious personal injury
and damage.
DANGER: Risk of electrical shock. Do not touch
uninsulated portion of output connector or uninsulated
battery terminal.
Power supply cord — Use only UL and CSA Listed
detachable power supply cord, 18 AWG, three conductors, cord
rated VW-1, 221°F (105°C), cord external length minimum 6 ft.
(1.8 m). One end terminates in a molded-on attachment plug
with a 15 A, 125 V connector which mates with the Zeon™
battery charging port.
There are three lights located on the rear of the charger; red,
green and amber. These lights will indicate the status of the
charging operation.
1. Red — Ready to charge
2. Green — Fully charged
3. Amber — Charging
4. Blinking Amber — Battery failure
5. Blinking Green, Amber — Charger overheated

Battery Safety
Battery posts, terminals, and related accessories may
contain lead and lead compounds, chemicals known to
the State of California to cause cancer and
reproductive harm. Wash hands after handling.
WARNING: Charge batteries in an open well venti-
lated area, away from spark and flames. Unplug char-
ger before connecting or disconnecting from the
charging port. Always wear safety glasses and protec-
tive clothing/gear. Use insulated tools.
WARNING: A frozen battery can explode and
result in death or serious injury. Do Not charge bat-
teries if frozen. Thaw the batteries before connecting
to charger.
WARNING: Avoid skin and clothing contact with
battery acid.
Always wear eye protection when checking the bat-
tery, acid can cause serious injury to skin and eyes. If
contact occurs, flush area with clean water and call
physician immediately. Acid will also damage cloth-
ing.
Do not drink the battery electrolyte.
Do not allow open flame near the battery when charg-
ing.
Hydrogen gas forms inside the battery. This gas is
both toxic and flammable and may cause an explosion
if exposed to flame. Always remove the negative
ground connection first and replace it last.
Do not overfill battery.
Electrolyte may overflow and damage paint, wiring or
structure. When cleaning the battery, use soap and
water. Be careful not to get soap and water into the
battery. Clean the battery terminals with a solution of
four parts water and one part baking soda when they
become corroded.
