The hy
draulic pump and motor assembly has differ-
ent pa
rts working together to perform the functions
of the
hydraulic system. The pump is not repairable
and mu
st be replaced when it is not functioning prop-
erly
. When replacement of the pump is necessary,
the e
ntire hydraulic pump and motor assembly and
the h
ydraulic reservoir must be removed and disas-
semb
led. Some components may be replaced without
tota
lly disassembling the hydraulic pump and mo-
tor
assembly. An electric motor drives the hydraulic
pum
p. It may be removed without removing the en-
tir
e assembly from the drive unit compartment or hy-
dra
ulic unit compartment. Do only the steps neces-
sar
y to perform the repairs needed.
The li
ft pump and motor are connected by capscrews
and ar
e located on top of the hydraulic reservoir in-
side t
he drive unit compartment or hydraulic unit
compa
rtment.
NOTE:
It is not necessary to remove the complete
lift
pump and motor assembly to remove the pump
moto
r. When removing only the pump motor, see Re-
move
Pump Motor.
