Using the PeerMaster Setup Utility Program
Each VNET can represent a large department while the traditional
subnet networks represent smaller work groups. You can configure
the internal router to restrict traffic between the departments.
Using the PeerMaster Setup Utility Program
During system power-up, PCI BIOS detects, assigns, and initializes
the following operational characteristics of the PeerMaster adapter:
Host IRQ level
Memory-mapped runtime registers
I/O-mapped runtime registers
Base address for shared memory
PCI bus number
PCI device number
BIOS slot number (supported in systems with PCI BIOS 2.1
only)
Each PeerMaster adapter must be identified by a unique
expansion-slot number.
The PeerMaster setup utility program, PSSETUP.EXE, is provided in
the root directory of the PeerMaster PCI Server Adapter Option
Diskette. You can use this DOS-based program to configure and
verify the operation of the PeerMaster adapter. You can use the
setup utility program with a startable DOS diskette if your server is
not DOS-based.
The PeerMaster setup utility program, PSSETUP.EXE, also identifies
the version of PCI BIOS in your system.
