Using the PeerMaster Setup Utility Program
Displaying the PeerMaster Adapter
The /list parameter is used to display a list of all detected
PeerMaster adapters. When PSSETUP is run with the /list
parameter, a list of all PeerMaster adapters is displayed along with
the bus and device numbers. The /bus and /device parameters can
be used to specify a specific adapter if multiple adapters are present.
1. Insert the PeerMaster PCI Server Adapter Option Diskette into
drive A.
2. At the DOS command prompt, type A:\PSSETUP /list and
press Enter.
A screen similar to the following is displayed.
PSSETUP: IBM Ethernet PCI PeerMaster Setup Utility V1.x
(c) Copyright 1995 Xpoint Technologies, Inc.
PCI BIOS Version Detected: 2.
Bus: Device: 8 Flash Slot: 2 BIOS Slot: N/A
Flash slot number needs to be set with PCI BIOS 2.
In the above example, the following information is provided:
Bus: The PeerMaster adapters reside on PCI bus 0.
Device: PCI BIOS assigned device number 8 to the PeerMaster
adapter.
Flash Slot: Flash slot numbers are retrieved from flash memory
and displayed in this field.
Note: In the above example, PSSETUP was used to assign flash
slot number 2 to the detected PeerMaster adapter.
BIOS Slot: This field displays the BIOS slot number of the
adapter reported by PCI BIOS. The above example contains
N/A in this field because PCI BIOS 2.0 does not assign BIOS
slot numbers. A system with PCI BIOS 2.1 would contain the
BIOS-reported slot number for each detected device.
