Installing PeerMaster LAN Software
The Port Number refers to one of the four Ethernet ports on the
PeerMaster adapter.
You can specify unique configuration information for each instance
of the device driver by entering keywords on the command line.
The following sections provide descriptions of the keywords that
each device driver supports.
Keywords Supported Only by MXPCI4BT.LAN
SLOT This keyword is used to specify the port associated
with the device driver instance being loaded. Slot
values are expressed as pseudo slot numbers. The
following example illustrates the use of the SLOT
keyword.
SLOT=SLOT21
RXCOUNT This keyword is used to specify the amount of
resources allocated for reception from the PeerMaster
adapter. For more information on this keyword, see
“Adjusting Transmit and Receive Resources” on
page 59.
Keywords Supported Only by VNET.LAN
in, where n can be any number 1 through 8.
This keyword is used to indicate that the PeerMaster
adapter configured as slot n is to be included in the
VNET.
Keywords Supported by Both MXPCI4BT.LAN and VNET.LAN
NAME This keyword is used to associate a unique name with
a device-driver name for each instance as it is loaded.
The device-driver name can be used later to uniquely
bind the device driver instance to a protocol. For more
information on this parameter, refer to the
documentation that comes with your version of Novell
NetWare. The following example illustrates the use of
the NAME keyword.
