This glossary includes terms and definitions from the American National Dictionary for Information Systems4 and the Information Technology Vocabulary.5

Mbps
mode. When a twinax port is transmitting data at 1 Mbps. This is
the standard data transmission rate.

Mbps
mode. When a twinax port is transmitting data at 2 Mbps. This is
the Express data transmission rate.
5250 Express
Data
Stream. A method by which 5250 emulation devices can
gain additional throughput, yielding increased performance. Supports the
following modes
of
operation: optimized mode and 2 Mbps mode.

adapter
cable. In this manual, an approved connecting cable with a standard
DB

socket D-shell connector for attachment to the adapter on one end and
with an appropriate connector for attachment to the establishment host cabling
system on the other end.

characters that identifies a register, a
particular part of storage, or some other data source or destination. (A) (2) A
unique address
of
an individual display station. (3) In data communication, the
unique code assigned to each device or workstation connected to a network.
