a. Power off the system.
b. Disconnect one of the cards you connected in step 10 (See page 159).
c. Power on the system.
Does a power reference code occur?
v Yes: Continue with the next step.
v No: Exchange the last card you disconnected in this step (see Remove and replace procedures).
This
ends the procedure.
12. Have you disconnected all the cards?
v No: Repeat step 11 (See page 159).
v Yes: Install all the parts you removed in this procedure and go to “Starting point for all problems”
on page 2.
This ends the procedure.
13.
Perform the following:
a. Power off the system.
b. Reconnect all of the I/O devices (tape, diskette, optical, or disk units) that you disconnected in
step 2 (See page 158).
c. Power on the system.
Does
a power reference code occur?
v Yes: Continue with the next step.
v No: This ends the procedure.

Perform the following:
a. Power off the system.
b. Disconnect one of the I/O devices (tape, diskette, optical, or disk units) that you connected in step
13 (See page 160).
c. Power on the system.
Does
a power reference code occur?
v Yes: Have you disconnected all of the I/O devices?
No: Repeat step 14 (See page 160).
Yes: This ends the procedure.
v No: Exchange the last I/O device you disconnected in this step (see Remove and replace
procedures).
This ends the procedure.
Power
PIP6: For use by authorized service providers.
A power supply is reporting a load fault. Read the “Power PIPs” on page 152 for important safety
information before servicing the system.

v Models 270, 820, 830, 840, SB2, and SB3 (See page 160)
v Models 800, 810, 825, 870, and 890 (See page 164)

1. If the system has logical partitions, perform this procedure only from the Primary partition’s console
and the system control panel. To determine if the system has logical partitions, go to Determine if the
system has logical partitions before continuing with this procedure.
