2. Ensure the keystick is inserted and select Manual mode on the system unit control panel.
3. Attempt to power on the system.
Does
the system power on?
v Yes: Continue with the next step.
v No: Go to step 7 (See page 35).

1. Power off the system.
2. Display the selected IPL mode on the system unit control panel. Is the selected mode the same
mode the customer was using when the power-on failure occurred?
v No: Continue with the next step.
v Yes: Go to step 13 (See page 37).

1. Power off the system.
2. Select the mode on the system unit control panel the customer was using when the power-on failure
occurred.
3. Attempt to power on the system.
Does
the system power on?
v No: Exchange the system unit control panel card (see the Remove and replace procedures).
This
ends the procedure.
v Yes: Continue with the next step.

Is a function 11 SRC displayed on the system unit control panel?
v No: Continue with the next step.
v Yes: Go to âStarting point for all problemsâ on page 2.
This
ends the procedure.

Is the Power Ready light on continuously?
Note: The Power Ready light blinks at a 1 second rate during a normal power-on sequence. It should
not blink for more than 1 minute.
v Yes: Continue with the next step.
v No: Perform the following:
1. Disconnect the mainline ac power cable from the customerâs ac power outlet.
2. Exchange one of the following FRUs:
â SPCN card (see symbolic FRU âTWRCARDâ on page 470)
â ac module (see symbolic FRU âACMODULâ on page 268) or battery charger unit (see
symbolic FRU âBATCHGRâ on page 285)
â System unit control panel card (see symbolic FRU âCTLPNLâ on page 323)
3. Reconnect the mainline ac power cable to the power outlet.
4. Attempt to power on the system.
5. If the system powers on, the FRU you exchanged is the failing item.
6. If the system does not power on, repeat steps 14a (See page 37) through 14f (See page 37) and
exchange the next FRU in the list. If the system does not power on after exchanging all the FRUs
in the list, ask your next level of support for assistance.
This
