For FC 5078, FC 0578, FC 5088, or FC 0588: Perform “Power PIP8” on page 168 to isolate the
failing item. The failing item may be one of the following parts:
- Any part on the expansion bus
- Power supply P01, or power supply P02 (see Locations FC 5078, FC 0578 Expansion I/O
Unit or Locations FC 5088, FC 0588 Expansion I/O Unit )
This
ends the procedure.
5. Is the SRC 1xxx 1810, 1820, 1830, or 1840 on an FC 5065 or FC 5066 expansion?
v No: Continue with the next step.
v Yes: Perform Power PIP6 in the Migrated Expansion Tower Problem Analysis, Repair and Parts
manual on the V5R1 Supplemental Manuals web site
to isolate the failing item. The failing
item may be one of the following parts:
a. Any part on the system power bus.
b. Power supply P01, P02, or P03 (see Type, model, and part number list for part number)
This ends the procedure.
6. Is the SRC 1xxx 2201 or 2301?
v No: Continue with the next step.
v Yes: Perform Power PIP1 in the Migrated Expansion Tower Problem Analysis, Repair and Parts
manual on the V5R1 Supplemental Manuals web site
to isolate the failing item. The failing
item may be one of the following parts:
Any part on the system power bus
Power supply P01 (FC 5033 or FC 5034) - part 21H9364
Power Supplies P01 and P02 (FC 5035) - part 4H7779
This
ends the procedure.
7. Is the SRC 1xxx 2202 or 2302?
v No: Continue with the next step.
v Yes: Perform Power PIP2 in the Migrated Expansion Tower Problem Analysis, Repair and Parts
manual on the V5R1 Supplemental Manuals web site
to isolate the failing item. The failing
item may be one of the following parts:
Any part on the system power bus
Power supply P03, or P04 - part 44H7777
This ends the procedure.
8. Is the SRC 4414?
v No: This ends the procedure.
v Yes: Perform “Power PIP6” on page 160 to isolate failing item, then return here and continue.
Is the SRC 4414 still present?
No: Continue with the next step.
Yes: Replace the battery power unit charger (see Type, model, and part number list for part
number).
This
ends the procedure.
9. Power on the system. Does the expansion tower that was failing, power on?
v Yes: Continue with the next step.
v No: Go to “Starting point for all problems” on page 2.
This
ends the procedure.
10. Remove the ac line cord from the outlet. Does a battery power unit, charger fault occur?
