If the locator function does not work, you will need to use the event log information to locate the
memory riser to remove.
Removing a memory riser from the 9040-MR9 system
To remove a memory riser from the system, complete the steps in this procedure.
Procedure
1. Ensure that you have the electrostatic discharge (ESD) wrist strap on and that the ESD clip is plugged
into a ground jack or connected to an unpainted metal surface. If not, do so now.
2. Remove the memory riser.
a) Open the release latches (A) on the memory riser as shown in the following gure.
Open the latches to the fully upright 90 degree position.
b) Pull out the memory riser from the slot by holding onto the latches.
