Version 1.00 is for Win2K/XP/Vista
Version 1.1 is USB 2.0 for windows 7
Version 1.2 is USB 3 for windows 7 / 8
After downloading and installing the driver, I connect the computer and the IC-7200
appears as a USB sound card to the PC. A USB interface and a sound chip being in the
radio, the PC thinks it has an additional sound card.
In addition, Ham Radio Deluxe talks quite nicely to the IC-7200 via the USB interface.
You no longer need the CI-V interface cable, so it can be removed (and sold off at vast
profit at the next ham fest.)
Playing PC audio over USB to the IC-7200
There are two things you need to do
Ensure the default sound card in Windows is the USB sound card
Set the IC-7200 to accept USB audio
On the PC, (Windows 7), go to Start, Control Panel, and select Sound. All the sound
devices are right there. If it is not already done so, select the USB sound card and select
the default button. When you’re finished, you’ll have to reset the default sound card,
otherwise you won’t get any sound out of the PC.
To set the IC-7200 to accept USB audio, you need to enter the Set Mode function.
