PREPARATION
TYPE OF WATER
WARNING: TYPE OF WATER TO BE USED
This product is designed to work with fairly hard tap water (up
to 18°f).
For information about the hardness of your water, contact your water
supply company.
The iron is already set for hard water use, i.e. from 9°f to 18°f, and the
filter will allow you to iron for about 25 hours before it needs to be
replaced.
In the case of softened water, i.e. up to 8°f, modify the filter settings
as described in the chapter “SETTING THE ANTI-SCALE FILTER
DURATION” which will allow you to iron for about 40 hours before it
has to be replaced.
If the water is hard (i.e. from 18°f to 30°f), you are advised to use tap
water diluted with unscented demineralised water for irons (1:1) to
obtain a value of <18°f.
In the case of particularly hard water (i.e >30°f), use unscented
demineralised water for irons or bottled mineral water (from a
supermarket). Use only demineralised water for irons.
INSERTING THE ANTI-SCALE FILTER
NOTE: If the anti-scale filter (14) is not inserted or inserted incorrectly, the product will
not work.
Open the filter flap (2).
Remove the anti-scale filter (14) from its casing.
Remove the protective red rubber pads from the anti-scale filter (14).
Insert the anti-scale filter (14) in the housing and pressing firmly into position [Fig. B].
Closes the filter flap (2).
NOTE: When using the iron for the first time or whenever the filter is replaced, on pressing
the steam request button (13), a slight buzz will be heard and the iron will not generate
steam.
This is absolutely normal and is caused by the anti-scale filter filling up. Hold the steam
request button (13) pressed for about 1 minute, until the buzzing stops and the iron begins
to deliver steam.
