5.3 THE FOLLOWING SYMPTOMS DO
NOT CONSTITUTE A PROBLEM
FOR THE FAN COIL.
Symptoms Status
e system does not work.
• e fan coil does not start immediately aer the ON/OFF key is pressed on the remote control. If the
operation LED ashes, the system is in normal condition. So as not to overload the compressor motor,
the fan coil starts 3 minutes aer switching it on.
• If the operation LED and the “PRE-DEF” (cooling and heating) indicator or just the fan indicator (cooling)
switch on, the heating model has been selected. erefore, if the compressor does not start when switched
on, the indoor unit goes into “anti-cold” protection due to the outlet temperature being too low.
Changing to “FAN” mode during
cooling mode.
• To prevent the internal evaporator from freezing, the system automatically changes to “FAN” mode and
then returns to cooling mode aer a few moments.
• If the room temperature drops to the set-point, the indoor unit changes to “FAN” mode. e same applies
to the heating mode.
White fog is coming out of the unit.
• When, during cooling, the humidity level is particularly high. If the inside of the indoor unit is extremely
contaminated, distribution of the temperature in the room becomes irregular. In this case, the inside of
the indoor unit needs cleaning. Call your dealer for more information. is operation must be carried out
by qualied sta.
Fan coil cooling noise.
• When the system is in cooling mode or is stopping, a low and continuous “hiss” can be heard. is noise
can be heard when the drain pump (optional accessory) is running.
• When the system stops aer a heating operation, a sharp sound can be heard. is noise is produced by
the expansion and contraction of plastic parts caused by a variation in the temperature.
• A continuous and low “hiss” might be heard when the fan coil is running. is is caused by the water ow.
• A low hiss might be heard when the unit is started or as soon as it has stopped: this is caused by a variation
in the water ow or it stopping.
Dust is coming out of the unit. • When the unit is used for the rst time aer a long time. is occurs because there is dust inside the unit.
e unit can give o a bad smell. • e unit absorbs the smells of the rooms, furniture, cigarettes, etc. and re-emits them.
e fan does not turn. • During operation. e fan speed is controlled so as to optimise system operation.
