How to fix Win-Situ 5 Software when it cannot connect to In-situ Measuring Instruments?
    • T
      Trevor PriceAug 3, 2025
If Win-Situ 5 Software cannot connect to the In-situ Measuring Instruments, ensure cable connections are tight, clean, and dry, and securely attached to the instrument. Verify the correct COM port is selected under Preferences > Comm Settings and that communication settings in Win-Situ and the instrument match. You can reset device communication settings to serial defaults by clicking “Reset all Devices” in the Comm Settings dialog (Preferences > Comm Settings). Also, check that the internal battery has sufficient voltage or that external power is supplied.

What to do if I cannot add a new log in In-situ Level TROLL 500?
    • J
      Jessica OwenAug 9, 2025
If you cannot add a new log to In-situ Measuring Instruments, it may be because only one active log (Ready, Pending, Running, or Suspended) can reside in the device at a time. Also, the Level TROLL 300, 500, and Baro TROLL have a capacity of only 2 logs. Stop or delete the current log if possible, or configure the new log after the active log is completed. You can also download and then delete logs you no longer need to free up space.

Why can't I configure level parameters on In-situ Measuring Instruments?
    • M
      Mike IngramAug 15, 2025
If you cannot configure parameters on the Sensors tab of your In-situ Measuring Instruments because the Configure button is dim, it could be due to the instrument actively polling in the Home tab or an active log (Ready, Pending, Running, or Suspended). Return to the Home tab and stop real-time readings by clicking the Play button. You can also stop or delete the log, or configure parameters after the log is complete.

What to do if new log exceeds available memory in In-situ Measuring Instruments?
    • P
      Paul HenryAug 21, 2025
If a new log exceeds available memory on your In-situ Measuring Instruments, edit the log and select a longer sampling interval. If available, select the "wrap data" option, which overwrites older data when memory is full. For a log with a scheduled start, select None as the stop condition, or select a stop time that is closer to the start time.

How to change units on real-time readings in In-situ Level TROLL 500 Measuring Instruments?
    • A
      Amanda MendozaAug 27, 2025
If real-time readings display the wrong units on your In-situ Measuring Instruments, it's likely that the default units are being used. To change this, click the Sensors tab, select the sensor, click the configure button, and select the desired units for each parameter in the Sensor Setup window.
