This document provides instructions for use of the Indesit AAR 160 C glass ceramic hob. Function Description
The Indesit AAR 160 C is a glass ceramic hob designed for domestic cooking. It features four radiating cooking zones of varying diameters and a display for controls. The hob is operated via a touch control panel that allows users to switch it on/off, select cooking zones, adjust heat settings, activate a "Booster" function for maximum heat, and set a timer. It also includes a "Key lock" function to prevent accidental changes to settings and a residual heat indicator for safety.

Usage Features
- Control Panel: Touch-sensitive controls for all functions.
- Power On/Off: Press button "A" for approximately 2 seconds.
- Cooking Zone Selection: Press one of the "B" buttons corresponding to the desired cooking zone.
- Heat Setting Adjustment: Use buttons "E" (decrease) or "C" (increase) to select heat levels from 1 to 9.
- Booster Function: Activated by pressing "+" when level 9 is reached, indicated by "A" on the display.
- Multiple Zone Function (if present): After selecting a zone and setting its level, press "F" to activate the additional zone. This function requires the cooking zone to be provided with multiple zones and a power level greater than 0.
- Timer Function: Select the desired cooking zone and power setting, then press the cooking zone key again. A luminous dot will appear, and "00" will blink on the display. Use "C" or "E" to set the time from 1 to 99 minutes.
- Key Lock Function: Hold down button "D" until a dot lights up above it. This locks all functions except the On/Off button "A". To deactivate, press "D" again.
- Safety Precaution: If no cooking zones are activated within 20 seconds of switching on, the hob automatically switches off.
- Overheating Protection: If internal electronic circuit temperature exceeds the maximum permitted level, the cooktop will switch off automatically. It will resume operation after cooling down.
- Pots and Pans: Use flat-bottomed pots and pans with a bottom diameter equal to or slightly larger than the cooking zone. Avoid metal pots with enamelled bottoms. Keep pot lids on when cooking to save energy.
Maintenance Features
- Cleaning:
- Clean the cooktop when cool after each use to prevent dirt build-up.
- Use a clean cloth, absorbent kitchen wipes, and washing-up liquid or a specific glass ceramic cleaner.
- For baked-on dirt, use a special scraper tool (if provided) and specific cleaning products.
- Immediately clean food spills, especially those with high sugar content, using a scraper before they bake onto the surface.
- Do not use abrasive products, bleach, oven-cleaner spray, pan scourers, high-pressure water, or steam cleaners.
- Periodically treat the cooktop with a proprietary brand of protective wax for glass-ceramic hobs.
- Troubleshooting:
- If the hob is not working, check for power failure or if the hob was dried carefully after cleaning.
- If "F" or "ER" followed by a number appears on the display (except "F03" or "ER03"), contact After Sales Service.
- "F03" or "ER03" indicates incorrect cleaning of the controls area; refer to the cleaning and maintenance section.
- If the hob stops working after intensive use, it may be due to high internal temperature; wait for it to cool down.
- After-Sales Service:
- Before contacting, attempt to resolve the issue using the troubleshooting guide.
- If the fault persists, provide a short description of the fault, the precise type and model of the appliance, and the service number (found under the hob or on the Product Description Sheet).
- Always request certification of work and insist on original spare parts if repairs are carried out by an authorized technician.
- Environmental Safeguarding:
- Packaging materials are 100% recyclable.
