Step 2. In the case of walls constructed from brick or concrete,
drill holes using a 7 mm drill. Insert supplied wall plugs into
holes and then attach the brackets using the supplied screws.
In the case of walls of cavity construction, or walls made of
materials other than brick or concrete, use alternative fixings
specifically designed for the appropriate materials. These are
not supplied with your Kappa Surround speakers, but can be
obtained from do-it-yourself shops.
IMPORTANT:
Before drilling holes in the wall, you should verify that there are
no electrical or water lines in the wall.
Step 3. Fit the two self-adhesive rubber feet as shown on Figure 6.
Step 4. Attach speaker wire as shown in the section “WIRING THE
SYSTEM” on page 4. Lift speaker to allow brackets on rear of
speaker to align with brackets on the wall. It will be necessary to
lift the speaker a little higher than your intended final position
to allow the two parts of the brackets to link. Allow the bracket
to slide together

NOTE:
Banana plugs will protrude past the speaker enclosure, requiring
a small cutout in the wall behind the speaker. Speaker wire may
be run through this hole as well.
To ensure proper polarity, connect each + terminal on the back
of the amplifier or receiver to the respective + (red) terminal on
each speaker, as shown on figure 8.
Connect the – (black) terminals in a similar way. See the owner’s
guides that were included with your amplifier or receiver to
confirm connection procedures.
For speaker connections, use a minimum 1.3 mm
2
(16-gauge)
speaker wire with polarity coding. The side of the wire with a
ridge or other coding is usually considered positive polarity (i.e., +).
Heavier-gauge wire should be used when more than 15 meters
of speaker wire is required. The wire channels on the rear of the
Infinity Kappa Surround will accommodate most types of 2 mm
2
to 0.8 mm
2
wire (14- to 18- gauge).
NOTE:
If desired, consult your local Infinity dealer about speaker wire
and connection options.
The speakers have coded terminals that accept a variety of wire
connectors. The most common connection is shown in figure 7.
IMPORTANT:
Do not reverse polarities (i.e., + to – or – to +) when making
connections. Doing so will cause poor imaging and diminished
bass response.
- Wiring diagram shows polarity connections for one
channel.
