Overview

The Insta360 ONE X is a compact 360-degree camera designed for capturing immersive photos and videos. It offers both independent use and seamless integration with a companion app for enhanced control and features.

Function Description

The Insta360 ONE X is primarily a spherical camera, capable of recording 360-degree photos and videos. It features two lenses, one on each side, to capture a full panoramic view. The camera is equipped with a Micro USB interface for charging and data transfer, and a Micro SD card slot for storage. An OLED screen provides basic information and navigation, while a speaker offers audio feedback. The device is powered by a removable lithium battery, ensuring portability and extended usage.

Usage Features

The camera can be used independently or connected to a smartphone via wireless or wired connections.

Independent Use:

The camera has two main keys:

  • Key 1 (Shutter / Enter key): This key is used to take photos and start/stop video recording.
  • Key 2 (Power / Switch key): This key powers the camera on and off, and switches between photo and video modes.

To power on the camera, press Key 2. To power off, press and hold Key 2. By default, the camera starts in photo mode. Press Key 1 to capture a photo. To switch to video mode, press Key 2. Once in video mode, press Key 1 to start recording. Press Key 1 again to stop recording.

Preparation before Use:

  1. Battery Insertion: Before first use, release the battery hatch buckle, open the hatch, and insert the included lithium battery.
  2. Micro SD Card Insertion: Insert a Micro SD card (sold separately) into the designated slot. The camera supports UHS-3 or V30 (or above) format Micro SD cards up to 128GB. For long recordings, videos will be automatically split into multiple files.

Wireless Connection:

  1. Power on the camera by pressing Key 1.
  2. Download the "Insta360 ONE X" companion app from the App Store by scanning the provided QR code or searching directly.
  3. After installing the app, tap the wireless connection icon (usually located in the top left corner of the Album page).
  4. A "Searching for camera" prompt will appear. Select your camera from the list and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the connection.
  5. Once connected, you can use the app to take photos, shoot videos, and access advanced features. The app interface displays the remaining battery, and options for video, photo, album, shutter, 360° live, animation live, settings, and filters. Note that 360° live and animation live features are only enabled when using a wired connection.

Wired Connection:

The Insta360 ONE X supports wired connections to both iPhones and Android smartphones using compatible cables (provided separately based on the phone's interface).

  1. Connect your phone to the camera using the appropriate cable.
  2. Open the Insta360 ONE X app.
  3. Tap the Shutter button within the app to take photos.
  4. Wired connections also enable 360° live streaming and animation live features.

Bluetooth Wakeup:

If the camera remains inactive for an extended period, it will enter standby mode. To exit standby, press any key on the camera. You can also configure Bluetooth settings within the app to wake up the camera remotely.

Maintenance Features

Charging:

It is recommended to use a 5V/2A power adapter to charge the camera. Insta360 ONE X's officially recommended charger (sold separately) can also be used.

Safety Notes:

  • Always power off the camera when not in use to prevent injury.
  • The device complies with FCC Rules, Part 15, meaning it should not cause harmful interference and must accept any interference received.
  • Any unauthorized changes or modifications to the device could void the user's authority to operate the equipment.
  • If the equipment causes harmful interference to radio or television reception, users are encouraged to try corrective measures such as reorienting the antenna, increasing separation between equipment and receiver, connecting the equipment to a different circuit, or consulting a dealer/technician.
  • Operation in the 5.15-5.25GHz band is restricted to indoor use only.
