What to do if I have difficulty opening the lid of my Instant Pot Kitchen Appliance?

  If you're having trouble opening the lid of your Instant Pot, it might be due to pressure inside the cooker. Position the steam release handle to the venting position to release the internal pressure, and then open the lid after the pressure is completely released. Alternatively, the float valve may be stuck in the popped-up position because of debris or sticky food. Ensure all steam is released by turning the steam release handle to the venting position, then gently press the float valve with a long utensil. Open the lid carefully and clean the float valve and lid before using it again.

  If you are having difficulty closing the lid of your Instant Pot, it could be due to the sealing ring not being installed properly. Make sure to position the sealing ring correctly. Another possible cause is the float valve being in the popped-up position; slightly press the float valve downward.
