Why is steam leaking from the side of the Instant Pot Pro Kitchen Appliances lid?
    • B
      Benjamin TurnerJul 28, 2025
Steam leakage from the Instant Pot lid can occur for several reasons. Make sure there is a sealing ring in the lid, and if there is, ensure it is properly installed and not damaged; replace it if necessary. Food debris on the sealing ring can also cause leaks, so remove and clean the ring thoroughly. Ensure the lid is closed correctly. Inspect the sealing ring rack for any warps or bends. A misshapen inner cooking pot rim can also cause this issue; consider replacing the inner pot.

Why is steam gushing from the steam release vent when the Steam Release switch is in Seal position on my Instant Pot Kitchen Appliances?
    • F
      flemingrebekahAug 1, 2025
If steam is gushing from the steam release vent while the Steam Release switch is in the Seal position, it could be due to not enough liquid in the inner pot. Add thin, water-based liquid to the inner pot according to its size: 1 1/2 cups (12 oz / 375 mL) for a 6 Quart, or 2 cups (16 oz / 500 mL) for an 8 Quart. It may also be due to a pressure sensor control failure, in which case you should contact Consumer Care. Also, check that the Internal Steam Release valve is seated properly.

What to do if I have difficulty opening the Instant Pot Pro Kitchen Appliances lid?
    • K
      Katherine NortonAug 6, 2025
If you're having trouble opening the Instant Pot lid, it's likely due to pressure inside the cooker. Release the pressure according to your recipe's instructions and only attempt to open the lid once the float valve has dropped down. If the float valve is stuck due to food debris, contact customer service.

Why does my Instant Pot Kitchen Appliances make occasional clicking or light cracking sounds?
    • B
      brownjamesAug 18, 2025
Occasional clicking or light cracking sounds are normal. This is the sound of power switching and the pressure board expanding when temperatures change. Also, check if the bottom of the inner pot is wet. If so, wipe the exterior surfaces of the inner pot and ensure the heating element is dry before inserting the inner pot into the cooker base.

    • C
      Chase CarrAug 23, 2025
