1 BEFORE USE
1.1 VISUAL INSPECTION
1. Check: the outer mask for ageing and damage, particularly in the area of the
buckles.
2. Check: the inner mask for ageing and damage.
3. Check: that the valve discs on the inner mask seal properly. [Fig. 1]
4. Check: the head harness buckles for damage.
5. Check: that the head harness straps are free from stress cracks and ageing.
6. Check: the visor for scratching that impairs visibility and ensure that the visor
frame halves are secure.
7. Check: that the pressure equalizing pad is tted securely. [Fig. 7]
8. Check: that the connection parts of the breathing valve and the face mask are
free from damage.
9. Check: the breathing valve for damage and that the mask connection O-ring or
the mouthpiece is securely in place.
10. Check: that the non-return valve disc in the breathing valve lies at around the
sealing surface. [Fig. 2]
1.2 ASSEMBLY
1. Check: That the connection O-ring on the breathing valve is in place and
undamaged.
2. Push the breathing valve into the connection piece and turn it counter-clockwise
until it grips in the bayonet coupling. [Fig. 3]
3. Check: That the O-ring on the blank cover/microphone is in place and
undamaged.
Install the blank cover/microphone to lock the breathing valve in position.
Hand tighten the screws securely without overtightening them. [Fig. 4]
4. Check: that the locking ring is securely tightened. [Fig. 5]
5. Check: that the locking nut on the breathing valve is securely tightened. [Fig. 5]
6. Connect the breathing valve to the breathing hose.
Hand tighten the nut securely. [Fig. 6]
