Overview

This document describes the Intex Prism Frame™ Premium Pool and the Krystal Clear™ Filter Pump, covering their setup, usage, maintenance, and safety guidelines.

Function Description:

The Intex Prism Frame™ Premium Pool is an above-ground swimming pool designed for outdoor recreational use. It features a durable frame structure and a liner, providing a stable and enjoyable swimming experience. The pool is available in various sizes, ranging from 10' (305cm) to 24' (732cm) in diameter, and different heights. The Greywood Prism Frame™ Premium Pool is a variant with a distinct aesthetic.

The Krystal Clear™ Filter Pump (models 604G and 638G) is an accessory designed to maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the pool water. It circulates and filters the pool water, removing impurities and ensuring clarity. The pump is an essential component for proper pool maintenance and is sold separately or as part of a pool set.

  • Optional accessories: Ground cloth, pool cover, and strainer hole plugs.
  • Assembly: Requires 2-3 people, no tools needed. Estimated assembly time is 30-60 minutes.
  • Site Requirements: Must be set up on absolutely flat, level, and compacted ground, free of stones, branches, or sharp objects. Requires at least 4 feet (1.22 meters) of space around the pool. Not suitable for decks, balconies, or platforms.

Krystal Clear™ Filter Pump (Models 604G & 638G):

  • Electrical Rating: 12 V~, 50 Hz.
  • Maximum Head (Hmax): 1.0 m.
  • Minimum Head (Hmin): 0.19 m.
  • Ingress Protection (IPX): IPX7.
  • Maximum Water Temperature: 35 °C.
  • Filter Medium: Synthetic cartridge #29000.
  • Mounting: Three mounting holes on the base for stationary mounting, forming a triangle pattern. 135mm apart for model 604G, 145mm apart for model 638G. Holes are slotted with 7mm width. Total assembly must exceed 18kg.

  • Electrical Connection: Connects to a grounding type receptacle protected by a ground-fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) or residual current device (RCD) with a maximum rate of 30mA. Extension cords, timers, plug adapters, or converter plugs are not to be used.
  • Warranty: 2 years for the filter pump, 180 days for hoses & fittings.

Usage Features:

Prism Frame™ Premium Pool:

  • Liner Preparation: Spread the ground cloth (if included) and then the liner over the cleared area, ensuring the drain valve is directed towards the draining area. Allow the sun to warm up the liner for easier assembly.
  • Frame Assembly: Horizontal beams are slid into sleeve openings at the top of the liner, and vertical legs are inserted into belt loops and T-joints. Talcum powder can be used on horizontal beams for easier removal during disassembly. Assembly should proceed in one direction to ensure proper connections.
  • Filling: Fill with water up to just below the sleeve line. It is crucial to ensure the pool is absolutely level during filling; if water flows to one side, the pool must be drained, the area leveled, and refilled to prevent collapse or damage.
  • Safety: Continuous adult supervision is required. Install safety barriers to prevent unauthorized access. Never dive, jump, or slide into the pool. Do not lean, sit, climb, or straddle the sides. Keep toys and flotation devices out of the pool when not in use. Keep objects a child could climb on at least four feet away. Maintain clear visibility of the pool floor. Use proper lighting for night swimming.

Krystal Clear™ Filter Pump:

  • Installation: Connect the filter pump to the pool using hoses and clamps. Ensure the air release valve is open during initial setup to allow air to escape as the filter housing fills with water. The air jet valve should be securely tightened and facing up.
  • Operation: Operate the filter pump until the desired water clarity is achieved. Never put pool chemicals directly into the filter pump.
  • Water Revitalization: The air jet valve (15) and pool inlet air adaptor (16) are part of the water revitalization system. When the pump is off, some tear-drop water coming out of the air jet valve is normal. Accessories like solar mats or LED lights should be removed from the filtration system circulation line to avoid reducing aeration performance.

Maintenance Features:

Prism Frame™ Premium Pool:

  • Water Maintenance: Keep pool water clean and sanitized to prevent water-related illnesses. Do not swallow pool water. Regularly check and adjust chlorine and pH levels. Do not add chemicals directly to the liner or mix different chemicals.
  • Cleaning: Use an Intex pool skimmer and vacuum for cleaning. Do not use a pressure washer.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual provides a troubleshooting guide for common issues like algae, colored water, floating matter, chronic low water level, sediment, and surface debris, with causes and solutions.
  • Drainage: Drain the pool completely by connecting a garden hose to the drain valve. Ensure the drain plug inside the pool is closed before filling and screwed on tightly on the outside.
  • Storage: Disassemble the pool, ensuring all parts are completely dry before storage. Air dry the liner in the sun and sprinkle talcum powder to prevent vinyl from sticking. Fold the liner carefully as instructed in the manual (creating a square shape by folding in sixths, then halves, and compacting). Store the liner and accessories in a dry, temperature-controlled location between 32°F (0°C) and 104°F (40°C).
  • Winter Preparations: If temperatures drop below 41°F (5°C), drain, disassemble, and store the pool to prevent ice damage. If leaving the pool out in mild climates, clean the water, remove accessories, plug inlet/outlet fittings, remove the ladder, add winter chemicals, and cover the pool with an Intex Pool Cover (not a safety cover).

Krystal Clear™ Filter Pump:

  • Filter Cartridge: Replace filter cartridges every two weeks. Keep spare cartridges on hand.
  • Cleaning: Disconnect the line cord, unscrew the pool inlet nozzle and strainer grid, and insert hat-like plugs into the strainer connectors before servicing the filter. After service, open the air release valve, remove plugs, allow air to escape, tighten the valve, and replace the nozzle and strainer grid.
  • Long-Term Storage: Disconnect the pump, filter housing, and hoses. Remove and discard the old filter cartridge. Clean and drain all parts and ensure they are completely dry. Store the pump and filter parts indoors in a safe and dry area, preferably between 32°F (0°C) and 104°F (40°C).
  • Troubleshooting: A detailed troubleshooting guide is provided for issues such as the filter motor failing to start, the filter not cleaning the pool, slow water flow, pump not working, top cover leaking, hose leaking, air lock, and air jet valve leaking. Solutions include checking electrical connections, cleaning/replacing cartridges, tightening clamps, and ensuring proper water levels.

General Aquatic Safety:

  • Water recreation involves inherent risks. Read and follow all warnings and instructions.
  • Demand constant adult supervision, especially for children.
  • Learn to swim and CPR.
  • Instruct all pool users on safety rules and emergency procedures.
  • Always use common sense and good judgment.
