The KeyMander 2 3Play acts as an interface between your keyboard and mouse and your gaming console (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 Pro, PlayStation 4 Slim, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch) or PC. Its primary function is to translate keyboard and mouse inputs into corresponding controller commands, offering a competitive edge and a different gaming experience for those accustomed to PC gaming. The device features a default port configuration: Port 1 for PC, Port 2 for PS4, and Port 3 as None, but these can be customized via its companion app.
For PlayStation consoles (PS5/PS4 Pro/PS4 Slim), the KeyMander 2 3Play requires a specific setup where the controller's communication method needs to be changed from Bluetooth to USB in the PS4 settings menu. This involves navigating to "Settings > Devices > Controllers > Communication Method" and selecting "Use USB Cable." This ensures a stable and direct connection for input translation.
When used with a Nintendo Switch, the default profile of the KeyMander 2 3Play is PS4, necessitating a change to the NS profile, indicated by red LED lights. Once the correct profile is selected, users can connect their keyboard and mouse. Additionally, "Pro Controller Wired Communication" must be enabled under the Switch's controller settings for the device to function correctly.
For PC usage, the KeyMander 2 3Play requires a change in its port configuration to "PC" mode, which is indicated by white LED lights. This ensures the device is properly recognized and functions as intended with a computer.
The KeyMander 2 3Play supports both wired and wireless keyboard and mouse sets. For wireless setups, the wireless USB connector must be plugged into the keyboard port on the KeyMander 2 3Play. A list of compatible keyboards and mice is available on the manufacturer's website.

The KeyMander 2 3Play comes with a companion app that supports Android systems (version 7 or later) and iOS systems (version 10 or later). This app is crucial for configuring the device, adjusting settings, and performing firmware updates.
One significant usage feature is the ability to adjust the "deadzone" to prevent mouse jittering or choppy movements during gameplay. This involves connecting the KeyMander 2 3Play to the app, starting the game, and selecting "Edit Deadzone" from the Advanced Settings. Users can select an area type (or "Automatic" if unsure), then use a pull bar to adjust the position of a white point. By observing the game screen, users can slide the pull bar to decrease or increase the value until the in-game picture moves slightly at the slowest speed in the direction of adjustment. The process involves stopping adjustment when the screen starts to rotate in the game to accurately set the blind zone. This adjustment needs to be repeated for each point on a different axis, and the settings are saved to the current profile and uploaded to the KeyMander 2 3Play.
The device also supports "Macros," allowing users to execute multiple game controller actions with a single keyboard key or mouse click. For example, a macro can be set to perform "UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, X, O" by pressing a single "Y" button. The KeyMander 2 App is used to record these macros and set trigger keys, with each macro capable of recording approximately 20 game controller actions. To activate macro keys during gameplay, users press F11 on their keyboard to enable Macro Mode.
Another useful feature is "Turbo Mode," which enables game controller buttons to automatically perform continuous spot firing. Users can enable continuous shooting for any controller button and choose from 10 different intervals. This mode is active when the button is set and the continuous shooting mode is enabled. To activate Turbo Mode during gameplay, users press F10 on the keyboard.
Regarding headset compatibility, the KeyMander 2 3Play offers different experiences across consoles. For Xbox, all audio features of the Xbox controller are supported, allowing users to plug their compatible headset directly into the controller. For PS4, all audio features of PS4 V2 controllers are supported, but PS4 V1 controller audio features are not compatible. For Nintendo Switch, headsets are not directly supported; to use a headset for audio only, it must be connected via a USB audio adapter directly to the NS.
The KeyMander 2 3Play supports over-the-air (OTA) firmware updates directly through its companion app. This ensures the device can stay up-to-date with the latest features, bug fixes, and compatibility improvements. Firmware update notifications appear in the app when a newer version is available or if the current firmware is older than the most recent version.
To update the firmware, users tap "Update" next to "New Firmware Available" on the device tab or access the Settings icon and select "Update Now." The KeyMander 2 3Play then begins the upgrade process. Once complete, users press "Close," and the unit will reboot and automatically reconnect to the app. This streamlined update process helps maintain optimal performance and compatibility with evolving console systems and games.
