This document describes the Islandaire 6041210 7-Day Programmable Wireless Thermostat, designed for precise temperature control in various HVAC systems.
Function Description:
The Islandaire 6041210 is a versatile 7-day programmable wireless thermostat capable of operating both conventional heating and cooling systems and heat pump systems. It allows users to set a customized program schedule for different days of the week and time periods, promoting energy savings. The thermostat can be configured for 7-day individual programming, 5+1+1 day programming (weekdays, Saturday, Sunday), or as a non-programmable manual control device. It features a clear LCD display that shows the current room temperature, setpoint temperature, day of the week, time, and system operation indicators. The wireless functionality enables flexible placement of the thermostat unit, communicating with a receiver unit connected to the HVAC system.

Usage Features:
- User Interface: The thermostat features a clear LCD display and intuitive buttons for navigation and setting adjustments. These include Menu, Set Time, Set Schedule, Next Step, Done, and +/- buttons for temperature and time adjustments.
- System Switch: Allows selection of operation modes: HEAT, COOL, or OFF.
- Fan Switch: Offers AUTO mode (fan runs only when heating/cooling) and continuous fan operation at LOW or HIGH speed.
- Programmable Schedule: Supports 7-day individual programming or 5+1+1 day programming with four time periods: Wake, Leave, Return, and Sleep. Each period can have a distinct temperature setpoint for both heating and cooling.
- Temporary Hold: Allows temporary override of the programmed schedule for four hours, after which it reverts to the schedule.
- Permanent Hold: Enables indefinite override of the programmed schedule, maintaining a set temperature until manually released.
- Room Temperature Calibration: Allows installers to adjust the displayed room temperature by up to 3° above or below the factory calibrated reading.
- Minimum Compressor On Time: Configurable setting to ensure the compressor runs for a minimum duration (3, 4, or 5 minutes) each time it turns on, regardless of room temperature, or can be set to OFF.
- Compressor Short Cycle Delay: Protects the compressor by preventing it from turning on for 5 minutes after it was last turned off. This feature can be enabled (ON) or disabled (OFF).
- Changeover Valve Selection: Configurable for changeover valves that energize in cooling (0) or heating (b) for heat pump systems. Islandaire units should always be set to 'b'.
- Heat Pump Configuration: The thermostat can be configured to operate a heat pump system, where Y is the first stage of heat & cool, and W is the second stage of heat.
- Cooling/Heating Temperature Setpoint Limit: Allows setting maximum and minimum temperature setpoints to prevent users from setting temperatures outside a desired range.
- Temperature Readout: Selectable between Fahrenheit (°F) and Celsius (°C).
- Clock Format: Selectable between 12-hour and 24-hour clock formats.
- Electric/Gas Fan Operation: Configurable for systems that control the fan during a call for heat (GAS position) or for PTAC systems that require ELEC Fan Operation Setup (ELEC position). Most PTAC systems will require ELEC.
- RF Pairing: A simple pairing process between the transmitter (thermostat) and receiver unit ensures wireless communication. Each receiver unit (for master/slave setups) must be activated and paired.
Maintenance Features:
- Low Battery Indicator: Displays an icon when batteries need replacement. High-quality alkaline batteries are recommended for a 1-year lifespan.
- Filter Change Reminder: An optional feature that flashes "Filter" on the display after a user-defined number of fan runtime hours (adjustable from OFF to 2000 hours in 50-hour increments), reminding the user to change the air filter. This reminder can be reset by holding down a specific key for five seconds after changing the filter.
- Technician Setup Menu: Provides an easy-to-access menu for installers to configure various settings specific to the HVAC system, ensuring optimal performance and compatibility.
