Why does my Italkero ETNA Patio Heater burner will not light?
    • D
      Dana SmithAug 15, 2025
If your Italkero Patio Heater's burner isn't lighting, first check that too much glass or lava rock isn't obstructing the pilot assembly. If the pilot is lit but the burner still won't light, the control valve may be damaged and require replacement by a qualified technician. If the pilot isn't lit, the flame failure device may have cut off the gas supply; wait 3 minutes before attempting to relight the pilot. Also, ensure the appliance is on level ground and completely vertical to prevent the ‘Overturn Shut Off Device’ from activating.

If the main burner on your Italkero Patio Heater suddenly goes out, it might be because the pilot light has been extinguished, which automatically cuts off the main gas supply. Turn the control lever to the ‘OFF’ position and wait 3 minutes before relighting the pilot. Once the pilot is lit, the main burner should work. Also, check if the gas cylinder is empty and replace it with a full one if needed. Finally, ensure that the heater is on level ground and completely vertical to prevent the ‘Overturn Shut Off Device’ from activating.

If the pilot light on your Italkero Patio Heater won't ignite or stay lit, there are several things to check. First, make sure the gas supply is on and the cylinder isn't empty. Try pressing the ignition button repeatedly while holding the main gas lever for at least 10 seconds. If the ignition button is stuck, lubricate it with WD40 when the heater is off. Keep trying to light it, as air in the pipes can take time to clear. Also, ensure the pilot isn't covered by glass, lava rocks, or debris. Check for and tighten any loose connections, and inspect the gas hose for leaks, replacing it if needed. If the spark electrode is wet or damaged, try lighting the pilot with a match or lighter. Finally, ensure the heater is on level ground and completely vertical to prevent the ‘Overturn Shut Off De...
