On: the current load function is on. The user can select On or Off to turn on
or off the load function through Up/Down key. When the load is on, you
need to select internal load or external load. The instrument defaults to
internal load.
Internal: the current load is internal load. The user can select Internal
(internal load) or External (external load) through Up/Down key.
External load
In using external load function, the user needs to parallel the IT-E500 Series
power dissipater. When using external load function, you need to set the
number of power dissipaters so that the user interface can automatically zoom
the range. The power dissipater can be paralleled to extend or discharge power
but not current. Maximum average discharge power ≤ maximum output voltage
× maximum discharge current.
1. Press [Shift]+[P-set] (Menu) to enter the Menu operation. The interface
displays information as follows:
DEVICE MENU
SYSTEM CONFIG INFO
2. Press the Right key to select “CONFIG” in the Menu to enter the Menu
operation and select Load-Status. Press [OK]/[Enter] for confirmation and
and select the [Load] to set the load status.
3. The user can select On through Arrow key to turn on the load function.
On: the current load function is on. The user can select On or Off to turn on
or off the load function through Up/Down key.
4. Select current load as External and press [Enter] for confirmation.
5. Press the number key to set the number of power dissipaters in parallel, for
example Num = 1. When external load function is selected, you need to set
the number of external power dissipaters in parallel. This number is
multiple extended of power instead of total number of power dissipaters.
Setting range is 1-3. The load power of each instrument can be extended
by 300%.
Parallel connection of power dissipaters
IT-E500 Series power dissipater is an accessory provided by ITECH for this
power supply. Each IT-E500 power dissipater can provide discharge capacity
up to 3KW and supports parallel connection of several power dissipaters. Each
2U power supply can be paralleled to 3 power dissipaters at most. You can
select the power dissipater based on power supply model. For detailed
description of the power dissipater, refer to IT-E500 Series User Manual. The
wiring method for three parallel power dissipaters is as shown below.
