At the core of the set is the Wine Opener, an electric corkscrew designed to effortlessly remove corks from standard wine bottles. This device simplifies the often-fiddly process of opening wine, making it accessible to everyone. To operate the wine opener, users first need to ensure it is adequately charged. The set includes a Charging Base and a Power Adapter for this purpose. It is recommended to charge the wine opener for at least 12 hours before its initial use, which will allow it to open up to 30 bottles on a full charge. The charging process involves connecting the DC power plug to the back of the charging base, placing the wine opener unit into the base, ensuring the alignment arrows match for proper electrical connection, and then plugging the AC/DC adapter into a power outlet. A blue charging indicator illuminates to confirm that the battery is charging, with a full charge typically taking 10 to 12 hours. Once charged, the power supply should be switched off, and the adapter removed.

Before using the wine opener, any foil seal on the bottle should be removed using the included Foil Cutter. This tool is designed for quick and clean removal of seals, preparing the bottle for cork extraction. After the seal is removed, the wine opener is placed squarely on top of the wine bottle. Maintaining an upright position is crucial for proper cork removal; holding it at an angle may prevent the cork from being extracted correctly. With the opener in place, the user presses and holds the "pull" button (indicated by a downward-pointing triangle). This action activates the corkscrew spiral, which rotates clockwise, penetrating the cork and gradually pulling it out of the bottle. The mechanism automatically stops when the cork is fully removed, and a transparent window allows the user to observe the cork's progress. The blue indicator light will turn off once the cork is extracted. To release the cork from the opener, the user lifts the device away from the bottle and then presses and holds the "release" button (indicated by an upward-pointing triangle). The spiral will then rotate counter-clockwise, releasing the cork. The wine opener is designed for use with traditional corks but can also handle synthetic corks. If a synthetic cork, which may be smaller and less expansive than natural corks, gets stuck on the spiral, a small pair of pliers can be used to firmly hold the cork while pressing the release button to slowly dislodge it. After use, the cork remover should be returned to the charging base to protect its mechanism and ensure it's ready for the next use.

The set also includes a Wine Aerator, designed to enhance the wine's flavor and aroma by introducing air as it is poured. To use the aerator, it is simply placed snugly into the neck of the wine bottle. For preserving opened wine, the set features a Wine Preserver and two Wine Stoppers. Not all bottles require vacuuming, but it is recommended for keeping remaining wine fresh for 3 to 5 days. To vacuum-seal a bottle, first place the wine bottle on a flat surface and insert a wine stopper firmly into the bottle. Then, hold both the wine stopper and the bottle neck securely with one hand. Place the non-slip mouth of the wine preserver onto the wine stopper, ensuring the preserver is kept as straight and in line with the bottle as possible. To activate the vacuuming process, push down on the wine stopper while simultaneously pressing the power "on" button on the preserver. The preserver will begin to remove air from the bottle, indicated by a clacking noise. This noise will gradually slow down and stop suddenly after approximately 20 seconds. It is important not to release the power button until the unit stops. Once the process is complete, remove the wine preserver and return it to the charging base. If the non-slip mouth of the preserver adheres to the wine stopper, hold the stopper and bottle neck firmly with one hand and gently tilt the preserver away from the stopper to break the suction, preventing air from re-entering the bottle. For bottles with more than half their wine remaining, one vacuuming session is usually sufficient. For less than half a bottle, repeating the process a second time is suggested for optimal preservation.

The wine stoppers also feature Date Indicators to help users keep track of when the bottle was sealed. To set the date, gently swivel the silver ring on the stopper left or right until the correct date aligns with the downward-pointing triangle symbol. This simple feature helps ensure that wine is consumed within its optimal freshness window.

To reopen a sealed bottle, firmly hold the bottle with one hand and gently ease the wine stopper away with the other hand. The wine stoppers should be stored in a clean, safe place when not in use.

Maintenance of the Ivation Wine Gift Set is straightforward. After each use, both the wine opener and wine preserver should be returned to their charging base to ensure they are fully charged and ready for future use. The devices and the charging base can be wiped clean with a soft, dry cloth. To avoid electric shock, the casing of the devices should not be opened, as there are no user-serviceable parts inside. Users should also be mindful that the corkscrew is sharp and keep body parts and utensils away from the operating end of the wine opener.

For product disposal, particularly for the wine opener and wine preserver, it is important to remove the rechargeable batteries and dispose of them responsibly.
