Air Filter
Cleaning the Pre-Cleaner (if fitted)

Important: Do not run the engine with the filter pre-cleaner
removed. If the pre-cleaner is more than a third full of dust,
empty it.
1 Unscrew the wingnut A and lift off the cover B.
2 Carefully remove the dust bowl C and empty out the
dust. Make sure the dust does not fall into the air filter
intake. Wipe the bowl clean. Remove oil or grease by
washing in hot water with a little detergent. Dry the
bowl before refitting it.
3 Carefully set the bowl in position. Fit and tighten the
wingnut A.

Important: Do not run the engine with the dust valve K
removed.
Check the dust valve K is not blocked.
Inspect the rubber flaps for cuts and nicks and check that
the rubber is not perished. Renew if necessary.

Changing the Elements
!MCAUTION
The outer element must be renewed immediately if the
warning light on the instrument panel illuminates.

!MCAUTION
Do not run the engine when the outer element has
been removed.

Note: Do not attempt to wash or clean the elements - they
must only be renewed.
Note: Do not run the engine with the dust valve K
removed.
Note: In a dusty environment, the outer element may have
to be changed more frequently than the service schedule
recommendation. A new inner element must be fitted at
least every other time the outer element is changed. As a
reminder, mark the inner element with a felt tipped pen
each time the outer element is changed.
