Emergency procedures
IMPORTANT
Revving up the engine or spinning the wheels may cause
overheating and damage the transmission. Let the engine idle
with the transmission in N (neutral) for at least one minute once
every five rocking cycles. This will prevent overheating and
reduce the risk of damage to the clutch or to the transmission in
case of prolonged attempts to free the car.
When you attempt to free a bogged-down car passing from D
(drive)/SECOND gear to R (reverse), avoid making the wheels
slip at a speed higher than 15 mph (24 km/h) to prevent
damage to the transmission.
