4.3 RELEASING THE GEAR SELECTOR
If, in the event of a failure, the gear selector cannot be moved from
position P (Park), the following procedure can be used to
temporarily move the gear selector.
1. Switch off the engine.
2. Engage the parking brake.
3. Grasp the gear selector boot material from the behind
then delicately pull it upwards to separate the frame and gear
selector boot from the central tunnel.

4. Keep the brake pedal fully pressed.
5. Insert a small screwdriver or similar tool in the access hole to
unlock the rear right corner of the gear selector assembly, then
push the lock release lever and hold it in this position.

6. Put the gear selector in N (neutral) position.
7. At this point, the car can be started in N (neutral).
8. Refit the gear selector dust boot.
