Symptom Possible Cause(s)
Instrument will not
turn on, t he BAT
symbol displays on
the screen.
. Low battery voltage, replace batteries.
. Batteries installed incorrectly, check
battery polarity.
. Return system for service.
Temperature values
display Over or Undr.
. Sample temperature is less than 0°C or
more than +50°C. Increase or decrease
the sample temperature to bring within the
allowable range.
. Contact JENCO Tech Support. Possible
temperature sensor failure.
Instrument will not
calibrate dissolved
oxygen.
. Verify calibration routine - correct
barometric pressure, salinity input, and
calibration environment.
. Allow sufficient stabilization time for
dissolved oxygen and temperature.
. Check sensor cap. Clean, rehydrate or
replace as necessary.
. Contact JENCO Tech Support.
DO readings are
inaccurate.
. Verify temperature readings are accurate.
. Sample temperature should be between 0
and 45°C , the temperature compensation
range for DO mg/L.
. DO sensor not properl y calibrated,
recalibrate the sensor.
. Check sensor cap. Clean, rehydrate or
replace as necessary. Recalibrate.
. Contact JENCO Tech Support.

. Sample dissolved oxygen concentration is
more than 20 mg/L or 200%, or less than
0.0 mg/L or 0.0%.
. Verify temperature readings are accurate.

replace as necessary. Recalibrate.
