Why does the load slip when lowering with my Jet Chain Hoists?
    • C
      Christopher DavisJul 26, 2025
If the load slips or drifts while being lowered, it could be due to dirt, corrosion, or foreign material in the hoist components. Inspect the hoist and correct the problem, ensuring it is kept clean and well-lubricated. Alternatively, the brake might be slipping because the brake seat is worn from long-term use or damaged from overloading or misuse. If this is the case, replace the disc hub and avoid overloading the hoist.

What to do if my Jet Chain Hoists will not lower the load?
    • T
      Taylor WeaverAug 3, 2025
If your Jet Chain Hoists will not lower the load, the brake may have caught. This can happen if the hoist was left under load for an extended period or shock-loaded during operation. Try placing the selector lever in the DOWN position and pull hard on the lever handle to reset the brake, then resume operation. Another possibility is that the brake components are corroded or damaged. Replace the components as needed and ensure the hoist is kept clean and lubricated.

How to fix a Jet Chain Hoists that will not lift and makes no clicking sound?
    • A
      Adam SimmonsAug 9, 2025
If your Jet Chain Hoists will not lift and there's no clicking sound, it could be due to several reasons. First, the pawl may not be engaging the ratchet disc because of dirt or foreign material. Clean and lubricate the pawl/ratchet disc assemblies. Second, the pawl spring might be damaged, in which case you should replace it. Finally, the selector switch spring might be loose or damaged. Try tightening or replacing the selector switch spring.

What to do if my Jet Chain Hoists will not freewheel?
    • J
      Joshua Fowler Jr.Aug 18, 2025
If your Jet Chain Hoists will not freewheel, it's possible the brake has caught because the load chain was pulled too hard. To reset it, rotate the handwheel clockwise while pulling down on the load chain. Return the hoist to freewheel mode and continue, but pull the load chain less forcibly this time.
