Flues or chimneys should be cleaned at least once a year for best results.
Before cleaning a Jetmaster fire chimney and flue it is essential to remove the fire's damper blade.
Remove damper lever friction bar by unscrewing the two adjustment nuts on the friction bar (diagram 3). These
nuts are also used for tightening or loosening damper level control.
Push right hand side of damper upwards to relieve locating bracket pin. Slide damper fractionally to the right to
remove damper from left hand locating pin. Remove damper.
Clean chimney and flue upwards through smoke ducts, vacuum clean.
Reverse the above to reinstall damper blade.
It is also essential to ensure the cowl is cleaned at the same time as the flue.
Use high temperature black paint for touch-up purposes when required. Ensure all surfaces are cleaned and
either wire brushed or rubbed over with a scotchbrite before applying paint. Contact The Fireplace Ltd for
additional paint if needed.
