What to do if JLG Lifting Systems battery is not supporting regular operation?
A
Angela HigginsJul 27, 2025
If the battery is not supporting regular operation, it could be due to several reasons. It might be undercharged, a cell could be faulty, there might be a faulty cable or connection, or the battery might be at the end of its service life. To resolve this, perform an equalization charge. Replace any faulty cell. Check the wire condition and connections. If necessary, replace the battery.

Why is the JLG Toucan 12E Lifting Systems battery temperature too high?
J
Jeffrey WatkinsAug 2, 2025
High battery temperature (over 113°F (45°C)) can be caused by a problem with the charger, bad air circulation during charging, a weak or faulty cell, or shorted cells. To address this, have the charger checked by a technician. Open access doors to the batteries during charging to improve air circulation. Reduce the temperature of the charging area with artificial ventilation. If necessary, change the battery cell.

How to fix unequal electrolyte specific gravity in JLG Toucan 12E?
B
Brandy DownsAug 9, 2025
Unequal or low electrolyte specific gravity can occur if filling was done before charging, electrolyte was lost due to overflow, or the electrolyte has stratified. Fill the battery cells after charging. Perform an equalization charge.

What to do if there is electrolyte overflow in JLG Lifting Systems?
J
Jacob MurphyAug 14, 2025
Electrolyte overflow can occur if the battery was filled before charging, cells were overfilled, or due to overcharging. To prevent this, fill battery cells after charging. Never charge the battery if the electrolyte specific gravity is above 1,240 kg/l.

Why is there low voltage in the cells in open circuit in JLG Lifting Systems?
A
Aaron WhiteheadAug 20, 2025
Low voltage in the cells in an open circuit can be caused by electrolyte specific gravity being too low or a short-circuit. Clean the battery top.
