2.2 First Aid Measures
Please familiarize yourself with the first aid measures listed below. In the event of a workplace
accident, this will allow you to seek, provide, or advise first aid which is most appropriate for the listed
hazards.
2.2.1 Refrigerant First Aid
Eyes: For contact with liquid or vapor, immediately flush eyes with large amounts of water. Seek
medical attention immediately.
Skin: Tissues will suffer freezing injuries. Flush areas with large amounts of warm water. Do not apply
heat. Wrap injured areas with dry, sterile bulky dressing to protect from infection or injury. Get prompt
medical attention.
Inhalation: Move victim to fresh air and restore breathing if necessary. Seek immediate medical
attention. Stay with victim until arrival of emergency personnel.
2.2.2 Refrigerant Oil First Aid
Eyes: Immediately flush eyes with large amounts of water for at least 15 minutes while holding the
eyelids open. Seek medical attention immediately.
Skin: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash thoroughly with soap and water. Get medical attention if
irritation persists.
Inhalation: Move victim to fresh air and restore breathing if necessary. Seek immediate medical
attention. Stay with victim until arrival of emergency personnel.
Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Contact poison control center or physician immediately.
