Bailing out
The bailing out procedure is as follows:
1. Jettison the canopy as described in Section 3.2.
2. Release the safety harness.
3. To exit, lift out of the cockpit seat pan using the cockpit rim and
push away from the aircraft to avoid striking the tail surfaces (and
if possible, try to dive underneath the wing).
4. Deploy the parachute in accordance with the manufacturer’s
instructions.
CAUTION: Due to the JS-3s high maximum airspeed and because
extremely high airspeeds can build up very quickly
following a mid-air collision, it is recommended to use a
parachute approved for speeds up to 400 km/h.
