Lubrication
1. BesuretouseJUKIgenuineoilandJUKIgenuinegreasetothepartstobelubricated.
2. Iftheoiladheresonyoureyeorbody,besuretoimmediatelywashitoffinordertopreventinamma-
tionorirritation.
3. Iftheoilisswallowedunintentionally,besuretoimmediatelyconsultamedicaldoctorinordertopre-
ventdiarrheaorvomiting.
Maintenance
1. Inpreventionofaccidentcausedbyunfamiliaritywiththemachine,repairandadjustmenthastobe
carriedoutbyaservicetechnicianwhoisthoroughlyfamiliarwiththemachinewithinthescopedened
intheinstructionmanual.BesuretouseJUKIgenuinepartswhenreplacinganyofthemachineparts.
JUKIassumesnoresponsibilityforanyaccidentcausedbyimproperrepairoradjustmentortheuseof
anypartotherthanJUKIgenuineone.
2. Inpreventionofaccidentcausedbyunfamiliaritywiththemachineorelectrical-shockaccident,besure
toaskanelectricaltechnicianofyourcompanyorJUKIordistributorinyourareaforrepairandmainte-
nance(includingwiring)ofelectricalcomponents.
3. Whencarryingoutrepairormaintenanceofthemachinewhichusesair-drivenpartssuchasanaircyl-
inder,besuretoremovetheairsupplypipetoexpelairremaininginthemachinebeforehand,inorderto
preventaccidentcausedbyabruptstartoftheair-drivenparts.
4. Besuretocheckthatscrewsandnutsarefreefromloosenessaftercompletionofrepair,adjustment
andpartreplacement.
5. Besuretoperiodicallycleanupthemachineduringitsdurationofuse.Besuretoturnthe
poweroff
andverifythatthemachineandmotorstopcompletelybefore
cleaningthemachineinordertoprevent
accidentcausedbyabruptstartofthemachineormotor.
6. Besuretoturnthepoweroffandverifythatthemachineandmotorstopcompletelybeforecarryingout
maintenance,inspectionorrepairofthemachine.(Forthemachinewithaclutchmotor,themotorwill
keeprunningforawhilebyinertiaevenafterturningthepoweroff.So,becareful.)
7. Ifthemachinecannotbenormallyoperatedafterrepairoradjustment,immediatelystopoperationand
contactJUKIorthedistributorinyourareaforrepairinordertopreventaccidentthatcanresultinper-
sonalinjuryordeath.
8. Ifthefusehasblown,besuretoturnthepoweroffandeliminatethecauseofblowingofthefuseand
replacetheblownfusewithanewoneinordertopreventaccidentthatcanresultinpersonalinjuryor
death.
9. Besuretoperiodicallycleanuptheairventofthefanandinspecttheareaaroundthewiringinorderto
preventreaccidentofthemotor.
Operatingenvironment
1. Besuretousethemachineundertheenvironmentwhichisnotaffectedbystrongnoisesource(electro-
magneticwaves)suchasahigh-frequencywelderinordertopreventaccidentcausedbymalfunctionof
themachine.
2. Neveroperatethemachineinanyplacewherethevoltageuctuatesbymorethan"ratedvoltage±10%"
inordertopreventaccidentcausedbymalfunctionofthemachine.
3. Besuretoverifythattheair-drivendevicesuchasanaircylinderoperatesatthespeciedairpressure
beforeusingitinordertopreventaccidentcausedbymalfunctionofthemachine.
4. Tousethemachinewithsafety,besuretouseitundertheenvironmentwhichsatisesthefollowing
conditions:
Ambienttemperatureduringoperation 5°Cto35°C
Relativehumidityduringoperation 35%to85%
5. Dewcondensationcanoccurifbringingthemachinesuddenlyfromacoldenvironmenttoawarmone.
So,besuretoturnthepoweronafterhavingwaitedforasufcientperiodoftimeuntilthereisnosign
ofwaterdropletinordertopreventaccidentcausedbybreakageormalfunctionoftheelectricalcompo-
nents.
6. Besuretostopoperationwhenlightningashesforthesakeofsafetyandremovethe
powerplugin
ordertopreventaccidentcausedbybreakageormalfunctionofthe
electricalcomponents.
7. Dependingontheradiowavesignalcondition,themachinemaygeneratenoiseintheTVorradio.Ifthis
occurs,usetheTVorradiowithkeptwellawayfromthemachine.
8. Inordertoensuretheworkenvironment,locallawsandregulationsinthecountrywherethesewing
machineisinstalledshallbefollowed.
Inthecasethenoisecontrolisnecessary,anearprotectororotherprotectivegearshouldbewornac-
cordingtotheapplicablelawsandregulations.
9. Disposalofproductsandpackagesandtreatmentofusedlubricatingoilshouldbecarriedoutproperly
accordingtotherelevantlawsofthecountryinwhichthesewingmachineisused.

FOR SAFE OPERATION
1. Soastoavoidelectricshockhazards,donotopenthecoveroftheelectricalboxofthemotor
ortouchanypartinsidetheelectricalboxwiththepowertothemachineturnedON.
1. Topreventpossiblepersonalinjury,neveroperatethemachinewiththebeltcoverandtheeye
guardremoved.
2. To protect against possible personal injury resulting from being caught in the motor, use a
motorthatisprovidedwithamotorpulleycover.
3. Toavoidelectricshockhazards,neveroperatethemachinewiththegroundwireforthepower
supplyremoved.
4. Duringoperation,becarefulnottoallowyouroranyotherperson’shead,handsorngersto
comeclosetothehandwheel,Vbeltandmotorsoastopreventpossiblepersonalinjurythat
mayoccurwhen your hands/ngers are caught in themachine.Also,donot place anything
close to them.
5. Soastoavoidpossibleinjurytoyourhandsandngers,donotputanyofthemnearthecloth
cutting knife and the needle when turning the power to the machine or while the machine is in
operation.
6. Toprevent possible injury toyour hands andngers,do not putany of them insidethe eye
guard while the machine is in operation.
7. Toavoidelectricshockhazardsandaccidentsarisingfromdamagedelectricalcomponents,be
sure to turn OFF the power switch before inserting/detaching the power plug.

So as to protect against possible personal injury resulting from abrupt start of the machine, make
suretoturnOFFthepowertothemachinewhenyouleaveyourmachine.
9. Intheeventofapowerfailure,besuretoturnOFFthepowertothemachinetoprotectagainst
possible personal injury resulting from abrupt start of the machine.
10. So as to protect against possible personal injury resulting from abrupt start of the machine,
removethebelt cover,motor pulley coverandthe V belt after turningOFFthe power to the
machineand conrming that thesewing machine willnotrun even bydepressingthe start
pedal.
11. Before inspecting, adjusting or cleaning the machine, threading the machine head or replacing
the needle, so as to protect against possible personal injury resulting from abrupt start of
themachine,besuretoturnOFFthepowertothemachinesoastopreventanaccidentand
conrmthatthesewingmachinewillnotoperateevenwhendepressingthefootpedalofthe
sewing machine.
12. To protect against personal injury resitting from possible drop of the machine, do not carry
yourmachinebyholdingtheclothplatecoverbyhand.Doingsomaycausethecovertoopen
or break resulting in drop hazards.
13. Be careful of handling this product so as not to pour water or oil, shock by dropping, and the
like since this product is a precision instrument.
Inaddition,beawarethatthesafetydevicessuchasthe"eyeprotectioncover"and"ngerguard"
aresometimesomittedinthesketches,illustrationsandguresincludedintheInstructionManual
fortheexplanation'ssake.Inthepracticaluse,neverremovethosesafetydevices.
