Power Supply Description
The router uses either AC or DC power (see Figure 1 and Figure 2). The power supplies are
internally connected to the midplane, which distributes the different output voltages they
produce throu
ghout the system and its components.
An enable control signal on the output connector ensures that the power supply is fully
seated into t
he router midplane before the power supply can be turned on. The enable pin
prevents a user-accessible energy hazard, so there is no interlocking mechanism. The
enable pin disables the voltage at the output connector if the power supply is not turned
off before re
moval.

What to do if the LED on one Juniper Network Router power supply is off?
    • T
      Teresa RodriguezAug 11, 2025
If the LED on one power supply of your Juniper Network Router is off while others are functioning, it could be due to the power supply or another router component exceeding its maximum temperature limit. First, ensure the power switch on the power supply faceplate is in the ON position. If the issue persists, replace the faulty power supply with a spare. Should the spare also fail, try connecting the router to a different power source.

How to troubleshoot Juniper m10i Network Router fan tray issues?
    • R
      Renee HenryAug 21, 2025
If the fans in the fan tray of your Juniper Network Router aren't functioning normally, and the red alarm LED on the craft interface is lit, use the command 'show chassis alarms' to identify the problem's source. This command will report the number of alarm conditions and their sources. If both power supplies have failed, the system temperature might have exceeded the threshold, causing the system to shut down. If the fan tray has failed, it must be replaced for the router to operate normally.

Why is the LED off on all Juniper m10i power supply faceplates?
    • M
      Matthew RobertsonSep 1, 2025
If all power supply LEDs are off on your Juniper Network Router, it could be due to a power outage or excessive system temperature. If the cause is excessive system temperature, correct the environmental temperature before repowering the router.
