CLOCK ADJUSTMENT :
Setting the current time
(when the UX-A5 is used for the first time)
(Example: to set the clock to 13:15.)

Connect the AC power cord; "0:00" will blink in the
display.
© Set to the standby mode; do not press the POWER
button.
Press the CLOCK/DISPLAY button for 2 sec. or more:
the hour's digits will blink.
Set to 13:00 by pressing the TIMER buttons
(UP/DOWN).
Press the ENTER button; the minute's digits will blink.
Set to 13:15 by pressing the TIMER buttons
(UP/DOWN).
Press the ENTER button; the time will light continuously
in the display.

@ To set to the nearest second...
Press the ENTER button when you hear the time signal
from a TV or radio.
Preparations:
® Turn on the power by pressing the POWER button on
the deck/amp unit or on the remote control.
@ When adjusting the bass/treble, first use the SOUND
button to set the unit to the ‘‘original bass/treble setting
mode.”

Notes:
® Before performing timer recording or playback, it is
necessary to set the current time.
® \t is recommended to set the current time with the power
switch set to STANDBY so that the current display mode
is maintained.
@ When the power cord is plugged in again after being
disconnected or power is restored after a power failure,
"0:00" will blink in the display. Set the current time again.
@ Press the CLOCK/DISPLAY to display the current time
during CD play, tape play or radio reception. The cur-
rent time will be displayed for 10 sec. after which the
display returns to the previous mode.
@@ ACTIVE HYPER-BASS button
Toggles the active hyper-bass function on and off.
When the function is tumed on[ HYPER-BASS] appears
in the display window and the bass level is boosted.
@@ SOUND button
Selects the bass/treble mode. To adjust the high and
low frequency response, select the ‘original bass/
treble setting mode.”

bands.

Boosts or attenuates the 3.3 kHz and 10 kHz frequency
bands.
@©@® VOLUME control
When the remote control is used to adjust the volume,
the VOLUME knob’s red indicator lights and the knob
turns by itself.
Notes:
1. To protect your speakers, be sure to turn the volume
down all the way before turning on the unit.
2. The BASS and TREBLE controls have no effect if
' [VOCAL], [INSTR.]| or [BEAT] appears in the display
window.
