Function Description:
The JVC SP-AD70-A/B is a portable wireless speaker designed for audio playback and hands-free calling. It features Bluetooth® connectivity for wireless music streaming from smartphones, mobile phones, or music players, and NFC (Near Field Communication) for quick one-touch pairing. The speaker also includes an AUX input for wired audio connections, allowing for versatile usage with various audio devices. It is equipped with a built-in rechargeable battery, providing portability and extended playback time. The unit is designed to be water-resistant with an IP54 splash-proof rating, making it suitable for outdoor use and protection against rain and snow.

Usage Features:
- Powering ON/OFF: The unit is switched on or off by pressing and holding the power button. A greeting message is heard upon powering on.
- Charging: The speaker has a built-in rechargeable battery. It charges automatically when connected to a computer or a USB charging device using the supplied micro-USB cable. The battery indicator flashes red during charging and turns off when fully charged. It is recommended to fully recharge after each use and to charge for an hour every six months if stored for longer than six months.
- Bluetooth® Operation:
- The speaker automatically connects to the last paired Bluetooth® device upon switching on.
- If no previously paired device is found, it enters pairing mode, and the Bluetooth® indicator flashes blue rapidly.
- To pair, activate Bluetooth® on your device, search for "SP-AD70-A" or "SP-AD70-B", and enter "0000" if a password is required.
- A "Connected" voice prompt is heard upon successful connection, and the Bluetooth® indicator lights up.
- To disconnect, press and hold the play/pause button.
- The operational range is approximately 10 meters, but obstacles can reduce this range.
- Supports A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) for high-quality audio and AVRCP (Audio Video Remote Control Profile) for playback control.
- NFC One-Touch Pairing:
- For NFC-enabled mobile devices, activate NFC on the device.
- Hold the mobile device within 1.5cm of the NFC icon on the speaker for quick pairing. The device will vibrate or a message will pop up.
- To disconnect, hold the mobile device on the NFC icon again.
- AUX Connection:
- Connect an audio device to the AUX socket using the supplied 3.5mm stereo audio cable.
- The unit automatically switches to AUX mode, and a voice message confirms "AUX music".
- Disconnecting the audio cable enables Bluetooth® mode.
- Listening to Music:
- In Bluetooth® mode, use the play/pause button to pause or resume playback.
- Use the +/- buttons to adjust the volume.
- In AUX mode, the play/pause button mutes or resumes sound.
- Hands-free Calling:
- Supports hands-free calls with Bluetooth® smartphones or mobile phones that support HFP (Hands-free Profile) or HSP (Headset Profile).
- Making a Call: Use the mobile device's buttons to make a call. Adjust volume with +/- buttons or speak into the speaker's microphone.
- Redial: Press the play/pause button twice rapidly to redial the last call.
- End Call: Press the play/pause button on the speaker or use the phone to hang up.
- Receiving a Call: When an incoming call arrives, a ring tone is heard. Press the play/pause button to answer. The built-in microphone allows conversation with the caller.
- Reject an Incoming Call: Press the +/- button once to reject a call.
- Automatic Power Off Function: The speaker automatically turns off after approximately 15 minutes if no Bluetooth® connection is established or if the battery becomes empty.
- Adjusting the Volume: Use the +/- buttons to increase or decrease the volume during playback. The unit beeps at the highest volume level in Bluetooth® mode.
Maintenance Features:
- Cleaning: Wipe the case with a slightly moist, lint-free cloth. Do not use abrasive pads, abrasive cleaning solutions, alcohol, ammonia, or spray aerosol at or near the unit. Ensure all cables are removed before cleaning.
- Water Resistance: The unit is IP54 splash-proof. Ensure the jack cover on the left side is completely flush and securely in place for proper water-resistant operation. Keep the jack cover free of dirt, sand, or other objects that could interfere with sealing. Do not immerse the unit in water.
- Battery Care: The battery is built-in and not replaceable. Only recharge with the provided approved charger or USB cable. Avoid overcharging, extreme temperatures, and direct sunlight. Store in a cool, moisture-free environment.
- Troubleshooting: The manual provides a table of common problems and solutions, such as no power, not charging, no sound, distorted sound, pairing issues, and unit unresponsiveness. For UK and Ireland customers, specific call centre numbers are provided for assistance.
- Reset: If the unit freezes, switch it off and on again. Alternatively, press the reset button and then the power button.
