Recording sound to a USB device
6 Press [GROUP/TITLE SKIP]
repeatedly while holding down
[SHIFT] to select the desired group
on the USB device connected to
the [USB2 AUDIO/REC/PLAY] ter-
minal.
• You can create a new group by selecting
“FORM GR” in the display window. Refer to
page 45.
• After this step, you can add (edit) a title to
the selected group. Follow steps 4 to 8 in
“Adding (Editing) a title to a track/group on a
USB device” on page 43.
7 Press [USB REC] on the main unit
to start recording.
• The “REC” indicator starts flashing.
NOTE
• When you want to quit recording, press 7.
• When “READING” is displayed in the display
window, you cannot start recording.
• If “NO USB” appears in the display window, no
USB device is connected to the [USB2 AUDIO/
REC/PLAY] terminal.
• If “USB ERR” appears in the display window, the
connected USB device is not compatible with
this system.
• If “DATAFULL”, “TRK FULL” or “GRP FULL”
appears in the display window, the recordable
capacity of the USB device is full, or the sound is
write protected.
- You may be trying to record more than the lim-
ited number of recordable tracks. You can
record up to 999 tracks to a USB device.
- Tracks are not recorded into the root group.
When the USB device does not have another
group, a new group named “MUSIC” is auto-
matically created.
• If “SCMS ERR” appears in the display window,
you are trying to record sound from a CD-R or
CD-RW. The Serial Copy Management System
(SCMS) protects copyright and allows only first-
generation digital copies from the digitally
recordable source. In this case, you can record
sound in analog. Refer to “Recording tracks in
analog” on page 42.
• If “NO PLAY” appears in the display window, no
music file is recorded in the USB device.
• If “CANNOT RECORD” appears in the display
window, you cannot record sound for some rea-
son.
• Changes to the volume during recording do not
affect the recorded sound or the recorded sound
level.
• The sound adjustment functions of this system
do not affect the recorded sound.
CAUTION
• Do not bump or move the main unit while record-
ing sound. Such movement may interfere with
recording. Take care especially when “WAIT”
appears in the display window.
• Do not disconnect the USB device during
recording, as this may cause malfunction.
