Overview

The Kärcher BD 75/120 R Classic Bp is a ride-on scrubber drier designed for wet cleaning or polishing of level floors in commercial and industrial environments such as hotels, schools, hospitals, factories, shops, offices, and rental companies. It is suitable for indoor use on smooth, water-insensitive surfaces and operates within a temperature range of +5 °C to +40 °C. The device is not suitable for cleaning frozen floors or for use in potentially explosive environments. It can handle a maximum water height of 1 cm and is approved for operation on surfaces with a maximum slope of 10% for working areas and 22% for short-distance transport and loading (max. 10 m).

Function Description:

The device allows for adjustment of water volume and detergent dosage to suit specific cleaning tasks. Detergent can be added directly to the tank or via an optional dosing unit. Brush irrigation can be speed-dependent or constant. With a working width of 750 mm and large fresh and waste water tanks (125 L and 120 L respectively), the BD 75/120 R Classic Bp ensures effective cleaning over long operating periods. The device is equipped with a drive motor for ease of use. Various accessories can be attached to adapt to different cleaning requirements.

Usage Features:

The control panel features a program switch with various modes:

  • OFF: Device is switched off.
  • TRANSPORT MODE: For driving to the operating location.
  • ECO MODE: Wet cleaning with reduced water volume and brush speed, and waste water vacuuming with reduced suction power.

The device is started by sitting in the driver's seat, inserting the Intelligent Key, setting the safety switch to "1", and turning the program switch to the desired function. The travel direction and speed are controlled via a switch and accelerator pedal. The seat switch ensures the engine turns off if the operator leaves the seat. The Grey Intelligent Key provides extended authorizations and setting options for supervisory staff, allowing adjustment of maximum speed, viewing operating hours, resetting maintenance counters, and configuring cleaning head types (R or D).

Maintenance Features:

Regular maintenance is crucial for the device's longevity and performance.

  • After each use: Drain and rinse the waste water tank, clean the coarse dirt filter, clean the exterior with a damp cloth, check and clean suction lips and squeegee blades for wear, clean brushes, and charge the battery.
  • Weekly: If used regularly, fully charge the battery without interruption at least once a week.
  • Monthly: Perform equalization charging if the device was temporarily shut down, check battery poles for oxidation, clean seals between the waste water tank and cover, drain and flush the fresh water tank, clean the fresh water filter, check acid density (for non-maintenance-free batteries), clean the brush tunnel and water distribution strip (R cleaning head only). For long periods of disuse, fully charge the battery and store the device with the battery fully charged, recharging at least once a month.
  • Annually: Have a prescribed inspection performed by Customer Service.

Specific maintenance tasks include:

  • Turning over or replacing worn suction lips: Suction lips should be turned over or replaced when worn down to the wear mark.
  • Cleaning the coarse dirt filter: Lift and remove the filter from the waste water tank, rinse it under running water, and reinstall.
  • Cleaning the float and fluff filter: Open the waste water tank cover, rinse the float and float switch with clear water, and remove/clean the fluff filter.
  • Replacing the disc brush: Replace when bristle length reaches 10 mm.
  • Cleaning the fresh water filter: Drain fresh water, unscrew the cap, pull out and rinse the filter, then reinstall.
  • Cleaning batteries: Wear safety goggles, protective clothing, and gloves. Keep battery cell plugs closed. Clean plastic parts of batteries and the battery compartment with water or a water-soaked cleaning cloth without additives. Dry surfaces after cleaning.
  • Resetting the maintenance counter: After performing maintenance work, the corresponding counter can be reset via the Grey Intelligent Key menu.

The device also features safety devices like a safety switch for immediate shutdown of all functions and warning symbols on the device indicating risks such as damage from water, burns, explosion, and acid burns.
